The app can transform a face to make it smile, look younger, look older, or change gender."
I just saw on facebook someone posted pics of the news that anyone who used the face app for the old people face gave rights to russia to use their pics.

The criticism is, In 2019, FaceApp attracted criticism in both the press and on social media over the privacy of user data. In response to questions, the company's founder, Yaroslav Goncharov, stated that user data and uploaded images were not being transferred to Russia but instead processed on servers running in the Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services.
 US senator Chuck Schumer expressed "serious concerns regarding both the protection of the data that is being aggregated as well as whether users are aware of who may have access to it" and called for an FBI investigation into the app.The specific section of the apps terms of service that drew concern were as follows;
"You grant FaceApp a perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, fully-paid, transferable sub-licensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, publicly perform and display your User Content and any name, username or likeness provided in connection with your User Content in all media formats and channels now known or later developed, without compensation to you.
Of COURSE the FaceApp app is collecting data from your FACE. your face also literally unlocks your iPhone and if your face doesn’t, your fingerprint does. Bring it on Russia!!!! I know everything I’ve got it all figured out.
